Disability Disclosure:

Campaigning for election feels like applying for a job, except that all the citizens of St. Norbert will be deciding if I should be hired. If this were a typical job interview, I would disclose to my prospective employers that I have a disability known as Multiple Chemical Sensitivities or MCS (despite the fact that our provincial government does not yet recognize it.)

Of course I am worried that the job will take a toll on my health but I am willing to try because I can forge a path for all of those with MCS. Not only will I be able to model that it is possible to maintain a job with this disability, but I also hope to move Winnipeg towards having healthier civic buildings, free of unneccesary toxic chemicals, thereby improving accessibility for everyone. It is also a wonderful opportunity to educate everyone about the dangers of synthetic fragrances.
