Constance has over 15 years experience in the business and public sectors through employment and participation in a number of committee, boards and volunteer capacities. This experience also includes employment with the City of Winnipeg (Community Services and the Solid Waste Division). Constance has earned a solid background in governmental issues, business and environmental management. There has never been a time in the past almost 20 years when Constance hasn't volunteered for a board or committee or for some project or activity.
Constance currently works as the Corporate Environmental Coordinator with Palliser Furniture Ltd. (Canada's largest furniture manufacturer) and deals with the environmental, health and safety matters in Palliser's Winnipeg facilities and to some extent Palliser's facilities in Alberta, Mexico and all markets Palliser deals with. She is a director on the Board of the Manitoba Habitat Heritage Corporation as a citizen representative (appointed by the Environment Minister). She is a Canadian Certified Environmental Practitioner and a member of the Manitoba Environmental Managers Network.
Constance earned a Master of Natural Resources Management and Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Manitoba.
Constance was born in Montreal, lived in Churchill and the RMNP area and has traveled extensively. Constance believes her exposure to countries (Europe, Brazil, Hong Kong, India, Thailand, Morocco, US and Canada) has given her, a broad-based approach to city issues.
She lives in the Bruce Park area of St. James with her veterinarian husband, Max, and their myriad of pets.
Constance is concerned about the voting patterns and how decisions are arrived at City Hall. She is concerned that if those candidates that are endorsed by the current Mayor become elected, Winnipeg would see a City Council and Mayor that contributes to a lack of balance at City Hall – which would not be good for Winnipeg and democracy.
Constance believes that an effective City Council would be cooperative, diverse and reflect the concerns and interests of all Winnipeggers.
