Chipman Subdivision, January 25, 2006

Under Sam Katz' leadership, approval of this subdivision means that residential development leapfrogs outside the west Perimeter Highway. The land is on the north bank of the Assiniboine River, between the Perimeter and Camp Manitou Road (the boundary with the R.M. of Headingley. Expect the Chipman subdivision to trigger more ex-urban residential development westward in Headingley.
Olywest Project - Economic Incentive Package, November 23, 2005

The Olywest proposal is for a $200-million, 300,000 sq. ft. hog processing plant in St. Boniface Industrial Park. The province and the city are contributing $30-million in loans and other assistance.
Markus Buchart, Winnipeg Green Party candidate for St. Vital says, "A hog slaughtering plant of this scale does not belong in Winnipeg."

Resolution 1. City Council reaffirm its support for the Civic Environmental Committee.
